Plus, we are getting so many inquiries and bookings right now for weddings in 2010! Check out this slideshow to see some really cool weddings we've done the past few years.
Give us a ring or send us an email to inquiry about your wedding whether it be on Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Cape Cod, Boston or beyond! We'd love to meet with you and show you our stuff!

May 2009 Exciting News

Occasionally I will have some exciting news that I want to report without a picture to accompany it. So here it goes:
First of all I was extremely honored to be included in Bill Hurter's new book Master Posing for Wedding Photographers published by Amherst Media. Bill had called me months ago to see if I'd "allow" him to use an image that had been previously published in top industry magazine Rangefinder (where Bill is the editor) and after happily agreeing I honestly forgot about it. That is until the other day when an unexpected box arrived and there were two copies of Bill's new book. What a fun surprise that made my day. I am included along with many of the world's top wedding photographers and the picture Bill used was taken of Marie Soverino on Main Street, Nantucket!
Secondly, I wanted to mention that we are moving into our season with a very solid year of bookings despite the economic downturn. It gives me a renewed hope and faith in the importance of photography, professional photography I should say, that our clients are choosing quality and consistency and talent over many cheaper options. You can never go back and have your wedding or your child's unique stage in life shot again in a better economy, so it's important not to skimp on what's important to you. After being in business now 15+ years it is important to constantly remind myself that I have clients who really care about their pictures and are willing to invest in me for them. This says it all to me and I am continually grateful for this.
Saying that, I also want to very excitingly add that we do have less expensive options in our studio here on Nantucket. If you haven't already please check out our second photographer, Libby Greene's portfolio and keep her in mind if you are on a budget for your wedding or portrait session. While Libby has less experience she makes it up in a fresh and passionate mind frame and she is a delight to have working here in the Nantucket studio full time. Libby is the eye behind the innovative and unique album designs this past fall and winter and she continually astonishes me with her new and fun designs. She has an ever growing portfolio on our website.
Lastly, if you have not booked your summer Nantucket beach portrait please do so as my schedule is rapidly filling up (thank God for that!). I have decided not to travel at all the last three weekends of August so that I can be available during our heaviest portrait month on Nantucket. Please call our office to book before May 15 and receive one free print size 8x10 or under with your first order. If you have not seen the new portrait slideshow please take a look here
Thank you to all my clients, my dedicated staff, all my colleagues, all my friends and to my family for making this season ahead so strong. Wishing you a great summer!

March 2009 A Visual Diary: A New Concept for CKP

A Visual Biography: I love this concept. This little clip was produced for my WPPI talk and I have just added it my bio page on my website as a way of introducing myself to my clients and give a little insight into me as a professional as well as my personal life. I love what multi-media can convey: the feeling that music adds to images and how multiple images can tell a story. I have received wonderful feedback on this piece and think it's something I'm going to explore more of for personal work.
90 Ballerinas: New Project. I just accepted a HUGE project to photograph 90 little girls in ballet classes here on Nantucket and produce a slideshow to music for their grand finale in May. I am really excited about this project because it is totally mine to be creative and photograph it the way I want to and what better subject than tiny little adorable ballerinas?

Spring/Summer 2009 Well Wed Magazine Features Real Wedding on Nantucket by Claudia Kronenberg

Well Wed is a sweet little magazine that totes a cool design with unparalleled photography and it is an honor to have a feature wedding in it from Nantucket last spring. Nantucket weddings are so warm and wonderful and have an element of elegance paired with a relaxed overall feeling: a perfect combination. This wedding was very special and was planned by Aisling Glynn of Acktivites, floral design by Soiree Floral, the amazing cake, by Jodi's Cakes, matched the bride's dress, the videographer was Lisa Frey of Nantucket Event Media, makeup by Mandy McCleave of The Calming Room, hair by Andrea Marie Salon, tent by Chase Canopy and location was the White Elephant, Nantucket.
I have worked and lived on Nantucket for over a decade and I truly believe it to be of utmost importance to hire vendors that live and work on the island. Being an island, Nantucket has its little quirks and local vendors have the resources to tackle the challenges presented to them, whether it be a delayed shipment, weather issues or anything. Nantucket is a destination wedding locale that offers everything within its 20x5 mile confines and yet is close enough to "America" not to be too expensive to travel to: A perfect destination location!

March 2009 Top Wedding Industry Magazine Publishes Story on Claudia Kronenberg Photography

This is a wonderful story by Alice Miller published in the March issue of Rangefinder Magazine. It talks about getting your wedding images published to bridal magazines which is something our studio has worked hard on doing for years now. Thanks Alice for this wonderful story and thanks to my past and present staff for all the efforts that are coming to fruition.

December 2008 Claudia Interviewed by Rangefinder Magazine

Alice Miller, former editor of Studio Photography, now has her own business called Plum Communications. She also has a column in leading industry magazine Rangefinder and has interviewed me for a marketing column on how to get published in bridal magazines. This article will feature our Claudia Kronenberg Photography, the magazines that we've been published in and be in the February issue, just in time for the Vegas WPPI convention. During the interview process I realized that we have had a lot of press lately: Boston Weddings twice this year, Well Wed, The Knot, Cape Cod Bride, Boston Common Magazine and Nantucket Times! A busy year for us here on Nantucket.
Yesterday I shot a Bar Mitzvah at The Four Seasons in Boston and I promise to post some images once I get back into the studio after Christmas. I also met with two brides-to-be, one to be married at The Four Seasons as well and one on Nantucket.
We'll be out of the office until December 30 when I return to shoot a winter Nantucket wedding, but I can be reached via email (I'll have my iPhone in Florida) so feel free to contact me at claudia@claudiak.com.
Merrry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Holidays to all!

November 2008 Claudia is Vegas-Bound Again-Speaker at WPPI Convention

I am off to Vegas for the world famous and most well attended photography convention held by WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) and I am honored to be one of their Platform Presenters again. The first time I went to this convention (photos above) I was also a Platform speaker so it was an incredible experience for me in many ways. First, I was completely jazzed by the collective energy of having so many talented photographers in one location, speaking and attending the multiple seminars and classes. Everyone was completely excited and you could feel it in the air. Secondly, was the learning experience and exposure to new ideas, new techniques, new equipment and mostly new friends and colleagues. Talk about nerds! Photographers are complete geeks for their industry and how much fun it was to talk late into the night (maybe with a drink in hand!) with some of the industry's finest photographers in the world.
The next year I was honored to be a Master Class teacher and teach to a small hand-picked group. Actually each person in the class hand-picked me to come listen to and it was an entirely different animal than the Platform the year before. This was intimate and inviting, a ongoing discussion and often one-on-one. I learned as much as any of the attendees did, I am sure of that.
Now I am honored for a third time and with Nikon's help and WPPI's support I will be on the platform once again on February 18, 2009, 8:00 am (do I get to sleep at all?). My presentation is called "Balancing Act" because as a mother, professional photographer doing weddings, portraits and editorial and having to travel for work and networking, I find that the "art" of multi-tasking is just that: an art. I am in the process of putting together my talk and I want to invite everyone to come see me, or even stop by for a few minutes on your way to Jerry Ghionis or Parker J who are speaking at the same time (wow!) and please stay to talk afterwards or find me in the halls of MGM Grand and stop for a chat

August 2008 Nikon Consigns CKP the New D700

We are so excited to have this new camera! We photographed the MacTaggarts the other night with it and this file is straight out of the camera and it is gorgeous. The camera is light, has a full frame sensor and is fast. It's perfect for my beach portraits and I'm thrilled to add it to my wedding day gear as well. We also got the new flash, the SB900 which I used with the remote wireless system. More to come on this...
